In preparation of his upcoming release, Declaime is proud to release the second leak off his album FONK, entitled "Gangsta." True to Declaime's self-proclaimed style, the track overflows with off-kilter effects and a swelling electro-synth line that challenges a ghostly piano melody. Producer Quazedelic, whose accolades include projects with George Clinton and Snoop Dogg, balances the warped funk vibe with a straight drumbeat and a faint electric bass line. However, even with such an active setup, Declaime's signature style shines through as he raps that "There'll always be someone more gangsta than you." To him, "Gangsta" is about shedding light on on the untold struggles of gang life. Declaime explains, "It's a message to the gangsters to wake up. This is not how we're supposed to be, and this music should heal, uplift, and cause harmony - not disharmony."Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?kzyzmeimmnz
In conjunction with the release of his debut album, Patience, TRUTHLiVE is proud to release his latest album cut, "Remind Rewind," produced by Jake One and featuring Von Pea of Tanya Morgan. A constant theme throughout TRUTHLiVE's album, the track serves to remind listeners of a more exciting, golden era in hip-hop, working to reestablish some of the long forgotten ideals of the music and culture as TRUTHLiVE and Von Pea trade verses over Jake One's decidedly boom-bap production. TRUTHLiVE explains, "'Remind Rewind' is a reflective homage to hip-hop, primarily focused on my deep appreciation for the art of emceeing, and its profound impact on me as a kid/young adult." He continues, "It is also a track about the emergence of a new generation of emcee's carrying on the tradition." Very relaxed, the orchestral background symbolizes a classic age in music while the scratching, courtesy of DJ Sharp, represents a rewind of time. The hook, rapped by both TRUTHLiVE and Von Pea, is, "Sometimes it doesn't feel like it's worth it / Till I put on headphones and play classic verses," The rapper chose Von Pea as his counterpart for this track because TRUTHLiVE believes the dialog perfectly suited Von Pea's ideals as a torch bearer for those who have come before and a true student of the art form.Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?lrmulmn2ied

No-One two totally separate individuals coming together to create music with true meaning & giving back is their slogan. As they come upon the release of their 1st mix- tape The Pre-Substance dropping November 17, 2009 and now with its NO DJ re-issue due out on April 20th. The Pre-Substance is basically a gateway into the album The Substance itself, dropping first quarter 2010. This is not your typical mix-tape, consisting of 17 tracks recorded with the concepts of an album.Download (BandCamp): No One - The Pre-Substance (Untagged Mixtape)
The Pre-Substance is a Gateway into what their future music will represent. With features and production from Dae One, THX, Black Milk, J-Dilla, Oh-No, Willie Brown & JRK, as well as artist like Balance, Taje, Chevy Jones, Mitchy Slick, Kes, Geo Brown & Marliek.
When asked why these two decided to come together as No-One and create The Pre-Substance they stated, We wanted to make sure each track had substance, Most of the music today does not have any real substance. The music presented on The Pre-Substance is an expression of how we feel, we wanted to give the people something to talk about. Therefore the mix tape is first, We actually wanted to get the fans aware of what we can do.
This mix tape is not just a list of songs, they further explains as they put their blood, sweat, tears and inner most thoughts into this mix tape While at the same time work on the album.
